Beaufont Health & Rehabilitation Center has an exciting opportunity for a Unit Manager, in our 120 bed skilled rehab center in Richmond.

The Unit Manager will oversee clinical operations of the unit and is responsible for staff supervision of nurses and CNAs, as well as interfacing with physicians, QI reporting and follow-up, and providing clinical expertise to staff as needed. This unit provides care for our most clinically acute patients and residents. Typical hours are Monday through Friday day shift, with some weekend and on-call duties.

Requirements:

•Current license by the Virginia Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse.
•Minimum three to five years of experience as an RN, preferably in long term care.
•Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to long term care.
•Nursing Management experience preferred.
•BSN preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Nursing (“ADON”) is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in the overall management, supervision, and direction of the nursing services department. Under the direction of the DON, the ADON is responsible for the planning, direction, and evaluation of effective and comprehensive nursing care practices which promote, maintain, and restore the wellbeing of all patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES  Serves as the DON in the absence of the DON; Assists the DON in management, supervision, and direction of all functions of the nursing services department.  Ensures compliance with current standards of nursing practice, company policies and procedures, and Federal, State, and Local guidelines and regulations.  Effectively collaborates with the medical staff and other departments to coordinate all aspects of patient care.  Identify clinical problems and implement plan of corrections and action plans as needed.  Review and investigate patient, family, and staff concerns; Takes actions to resolve and prevent future occurrences.  Participate in recruitment, selection, and hiring process of quality nursing staff.  Effectively manages turnover in the nursing department.  Provides leadership and provides regular feedback to staff on performance; completes employee performance appraisals in a timely manner.  Oversees nursing department scheduling and staffing needs in accordance with budgeted hours per patient day (HPPD).  Promotes the center’s education program; participates in and enforces the center’s orientation process.  Evaluate and manage nursing services in relation to specific objects and cost controls.  Routinely review clinical processes to promote positive patient outcomes.  Participates and provides leadership in the Quality Assurance program.  Attends corporate level education programs as necessary.  Performs other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the business.

Beaufont Health & Rehabilitation Center in Richmondis seeking an RN for our Staff Development Coordinator position.

The RN Staff Development Coordinator manages and provides required education to the entire staff and is also responsible for employee health.

Employee health encompasses administration and management of Hepatitis B vaccinations and PPD annual checks. Requires expert knowledge of basic nursing skills (patient assessment, infection control, IV therapy, medication administration, etc.) and a desire to pass that knowledge on to others.

The Staff Development Coordinator works closely with the HR manager to provide new hire orientation. The SDC evaluates the educational needs to ensure on-going continuing education and adherence to applicable required in-service education for all staff. Identifies, assesses, and implements in-service programs as needed regarding the satisfactory performance of clinical skills and knowledge.

Serves as Infection Control Nurse, reports infection control practices to Infection Control Officer and Administrator.

Qualified candidates must be a licensed RN, have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a nurse, and clinical training experience.

The ideal SDC candidate will have the qualifications to teach CNA classes however we will support them to achieve this educational goal upon hire.

POSITION SUMMARY The Infection Preventionist works directly with all employees, patients, medical providers, and pharmacists to fully implement all aspects of the healthcare center’s Infection Prevention and Control Program which is designed to comply with all aspects of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and other federal and state guidelines for skilled nursing and long-term care providers.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Plans, implements, directs, and coordinates the healthcare center’s Infection Prevention and Control Program. Conducts compliance audits; provides supervision and training as necessary. Implements action plans to resolve areas of deficient practice. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly infection control rounds and accurately record findings. Collect and analyze infection surveillance information for patients and employees. Manage the healthcare center’s Tuberculosis program. Ensures applicable transmission-based precautions are initiated, implemented, and communicated with the interdisciplinary team. Conducts, attends, and participates in orientation, training, and in-service programs. Coordinates and manages vaccine programs for patients and employees. Plans, implements, directs, and coordinates the healthcare center’s Antibiotic Stewardship Program. Participates in and provides appropriate reporting to the Quality Assurance committee as it relates to the healthcare center’s Infection Prevention and Antibiotic Stewardship Program. Attends corporate level education programs as indicated. Ensure compliance with company policies as well as all federal, state, and local regulations. Performs other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the healthcare center. 


PREREQUISITES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES One year of experience in Infection Preventionist or related role. Infection Control Practitioner Certification (CIC) preferred. Active, unencumbered licensure as a Nurse in the state of employment. Completion or willingness to complete specialized training in infection prevention and control. Thorough knowledge of standard methods and criteria for identifying health care associated infections using an approach that consists of surveillance, data collection, and trending for identification.
